Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for since we decided to buy a boat together… launch day! Having a boat up on blocks in a field isn’t a lot of fun.  Even if it’s at a dock it’s way more entertaining!  We showed up early in the morning to get a little work done before our launch at 12:45, but they had the boat in front of us up in the slings on the travel lift the night before so when we arrived, it was already out of the way.  By 10:00, they were ready to roll! 😮

Our boat is in the slings now!
This guy has a little fanny pack for the remote controls for the giant travel lift! Impressive!

Lowering her down!
Almost there!

We spent a few hours wandering around in the sun waiting for the boat to get moved and then waiting for them to lower it into the water.  I don’t think anyone got super sunburned, but we do all need to start remembering to wear hats!  We made it to our spot at the dock fairly incident-free and got safely tied up.  Afterwards we started checking systems and making sure everything was good to go.  We even turned on the fridge and air conditioning! This thing is like a darn condo! 🙂

Dad found a spot to wait!
At a dock!

After we got all settled and had some lunch, I went up the mast to install the wind instruments and got a few pics from above!

I’m a drone!

Jason and I stayed so late working that it got dark.

Overall it was a very exciting day for the True North crew.  None of us have ever been on the boat in the water (we didn’t do a sea trial or survey..) and the parents haven’t been on a catamaran ever.  We’re all ready to pack up and head to the Bahamas! (but not yet… we need to go to Costco first!)
