After hanging out at marinas with laundry access for so long I may have gotten a little spoiled. However now that we’re in West Palm there aren’t any laundromats available. It was time to tackle doing laundry by hand! I have a 5 gallon bucket and what’s essentially a vented plastic toilet bowl plunger to agitate the clothes around.

I had an entertaining few hours pretending I was a peasant woman out in the country before my shoulders hurt and I got hella bored. It also used way more water than I really thought it would to get the soap out. Lesson learned: if a full cap of soap works for an entire load of laundry, half a cup is way too much for maybe 2 gallons of water in a bucket!

Obviously no dryer, so we hung our clothes out on the rails so we look like the Beverly hillbillies and annoy all the ultra rich people who have to look at our boat!

Here’s my fancy plunger
Had to use a kitty litter box for rinsing.
Looking classy drying in the sun!
