Today was our last day of biking before we all headed our separate ways towards home. The morning started with a 30 mile ride up the park service road to the trailhead for the narrows that we hiked yesterday. Slow, lumbering park busses make up the only traffic on this gentle winding road between the walls of the giant canyon. The sun was just starting to peek over the rocks. A very relaxing morning ride and great end to an epic vacation!
This was my first bicycle trip that’s been fully supported. The TrekTravel team followed us all around in the van and had snacks and water available whenever we wanted it. I may be hooked! 😉 The Trek Domane’s were really great bikes. I’m sold on the electric shifters. No chains flapping around and gears clicking, the shift just happens. I will have that on my next bike! Trek’s Isospeed Decoupler really does work exactly as advertised. I could definitely tell a difference on rougher roads between the Domane 5.9 that I borrowed and my own Cannondale Synapse. I gotta say though, there’s just something that I love about my Synapse… that bike is so comfortable and whippy. Can’t wait to hit the roads in Washington once we get home!
