Artists have been enthralled with the ballet for as long as it’s been around.  I’ve always wanted to do a dance photoshoot and it came up in conversation randomly that my friend Yuli had a few years of ballet.  She’s also Russian and has the perfect “Russian ballerina” look!

We started planning a cool ballet shoot, but to make it awesome-r we set the location at an abandoned building in Bainbridge Island with a ton of graffiti. It’s probably one of my favorite places to shoot.  The huge windows and holes in the ceiling make for fantastic lighting and the ever-changing colors of the graffiti just add that extra something special!

Yuli really rocked this shoot!

I love the support columns in the middle.

I really suck at smoke bombs
