We woke up after a very restful night at Spencer Spit and made some coffee and breakfast. Note that coffee came first. 😉 I brought my little pour over and made mom and I delicious coffees while Jason waited patiently for me to get out of the galley so he could make chocolate chip pancakes.

Sunrise

Our next stop was Jones island.  There’s a pretty convenient dock there but it’s usually full.  We got lucky and there was a spot available right as we motored into the bay! We all got off of the boat and headed to the island for a little hike. Mom went off on her own and I started to wander around taking artsy photos while waiting for Jason to finish up some boat paperwork.

The dock. Our boat is the sailboat on the end!
Sat the camera in the grass for this shot of tiny flowers

Green against green
Up through the branches

I forget what these are called.
Lots of skinny trees

Jason and I walked the entire perimeter loop trail, which was probably a few more miles than we were expecting.  The weather was beautiful and warm though, so it was nice to be out and about for a change!

Nice view of the water from most of the trail

Sunset from the boat
