On our way north we HAD to stop at Fields, Oregon and get some burgers and milkshakes because they’re the best ever! Seriously, I had a butterfinger/marshmallow shake and a giant cheeseburger. It was amazing! I also bought another coffee cup, because ‘support local business’ (and they’re a cute green this year!).
Funny enough, I didn’t get any photos of the outside of Fields Station. It recently changed ownership and they’ve been adding things and painted the whole thing a festive peach color!
Fields is just south of the Steens mountain that’s roughly 50 miles long and rises out of the Alvord desert floor to a summit of 9,733 feet! Obviously, at that elevation they get some snow! Luckily, the road was still open for the year and Jason and I decided to go ahead and do a loop of it. Steens mountain is also conveniently home to a few large herds of wild mustangs!
These guys were hanging out right off of a side road and didn’t seem bothered by the truck at all! I took waaaaay too many pictures of them!
