Jason and I were fixing dinner (I was cutting onions, Jason was doing the actual cooking) when he looks outside the camper window and tells me to grab my camera because the lighting was phenomenal.  Obviously, the onion is no longer important and I’m instantly outside.  The sun was slowly setting over the mountains and tendrils of light were making their way along the playa surface.  Eventually, the light got low enough to hit the mountains across the playa and practically set them on fire. It was amazing. To make it better, after I was done taking pictures I got to have savannah red rice with sausage for dinner.
