Pilot butte is located right in the middle of town in Bend.  The hike to the top is easy, yet scenic and provides an excellent viewpoint of Bend itself and all of the surrounding mountains.  It’s like what people did before you could just fly a drone up and take aerial photos. 😉

The quality of photos that you get from the butte depend mostly on the lighting and weather that’s happening while you’re up there.  We climbed the butte in early-ish morning and it was mostly cloudy.  Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t!
