Apparently the Arenal volcano is a big deal in Costa Rica, but not everyone gets to see it because it’s usually covered in clouds. (like pretty much every volcano apparently). It looks like we lucked out again because the day we were transiting Lake Arenal by boat, the volcano was out!

At this point we join our tour guides, the rest of our family, and our new friends in a little boat to shave off a few hours of windy mountain bus ride time.  The lake was calm and cool and overall was a pretty nice ride with a great view of the volcano!
