The first dive of the day on this lovely Tuesday morning was out to Pirate’s Point. Another spot full of coral, tropical fish, and other wildlife. After the dive our boat captain Roberto supplied hot chocolate and cookies. He had been talking about hot chocolate all morning and we all assumed he was joking because we’re in Honduras and who drinks hot beverages on a tropical island? Apparently we do because it’s actually pretty chilly sitting on the boat in a wetsuit waiting for your surface interval to be over so you can go back down. After the official boat dive is over we have the option to get dropped off on the way back to the resort and do another dive. Jason and I chose that option. We’re here to dive, dammit! The chosen spot was Newman’s Wall, which is a huge drop off wall dive right outside the resort. This is probably my favorite dive. The wall is steep and while you can see the bottom, it’s way deeper than I want to go! It’s easier to take photos on the wall also since you can just float there and get the lens super close with less of a chance of sinking down and bashing into something delicate, which is pretty much everything.
