Even though we’ve been to Victoria, Canada more than a few times, we always run out of time in between exploring the many back alleys and eating amazing food to make the trek down to Fisherman’s Wharf. Every time we pass by it on a boat I express my desire to go see the neighborhood of cute little floating houses. So what better time than now?
The hike starts by the ferry terminal and follows a nicely landscaped, paved trail along the water. If I had known it would be this nice of a walk, we would have done it long ago! We took a break halfway through and stopped and watched the float planes land and take off for a while. The Wharf itself is fairly popular with tourists, but there were lots of neat little food trucks, a group of seals begging for treats, a dock full of commercial fishing boats, and the aforementioned floating tiny homes.
Due to the amount of people and my choice of camera lenses (this is the only time I’m going to whine about my 50mm Zeiss…) I didn’t get a shot of the entire house. However, I know I’ve posted before about car shows and how my favorite parts are always the little details that people throw in. This was no different. I enjoyed the tiny things (ha! get it!?) that the people who own these houses did to have fun with them.
