While hanging out with the parents in Nevada they mentioned that it’s been a long time since they’ve seen the stars at night.  That’s easy enough to fix, so we loaded everyone into the 4Runner and drove out of town offroad to show the parents the 3 corners area where Arizona, Nevada, and Utah meet out in the  middle of nowhere.  The road out was very rough and bumpy… mom didn’t seem to appreciate being beat to death in the back of the truck!  Eventually we made it and they finally got to see the corners area and the flagpoles that mark the occasion.  We set up all of our camping gear and made brats for dinner on the grill and then sat around until it got dark enough for the stars to come out.  Mars, which is very close to earth right now, was the first out and a big glowing red orb! Eventually we had the entire milky way!
