Just outside Mesquite, Nevada is the Mohave Desert and Joshua Tree Road Scenic Backway. I made Jason stop to take pictures of the trees on our way out of town because I’ve always been fascinated by them but hadn’t seen one up close! They’re pretty neat!

We were taking the backroads out of Mesquite to St. George Utah because of highway construction going through the gorge.  It’s a very interesting drive around the mountains and through the indian reservation. There were quite a few abandoned structures that we stopped to check out as well!

After exploring St. George (hey, another blog post coming right up!) we caught the sunset on the Joshua trees!
