After spending way too much time packing as usual instead of actually hitting the road early in the morning, Jason and I finally left the house sometime before lunch.  The destination for the day was Bend, Oregon because Jason wanted (needed!) some new pants from REI and I we both wanted “crack chicken” from Noi Thai.  (seriously, you can order it by that name. The servers know what you mean!)  Jason had Fuzztail Butte open in google maps for like months on the computer.  It seemed as good a place as any to spend the night so we headed out there for our first real night of camping on our road trip!  Fuzztail butte is located a few miles outside a horse camping spot that we started a mountain bike ride from once.  The road to the top wasn’t super great.  I’ll admit I have limited experience offroading.  Jason seemed amused by my concern about the terrain. The view was totally worth it!

Fuzztail butte is actually pretty tall and you can see Bend and the mountains in the distance.

I like these colors

Since we delayed our trip by a few weeks we no longer had a new moon, we had a full moon instead. We didn’t really get the super dark skies for milky way shots, but we set up the tripod and took some nighttime photos anyway!

You can kind of see the milky way in this photo
