I would have loved to explore more of Hawksbill, but unfortunately a frontal storm was predicted to roll through bringing with it some west winds. We needed a place to stay that would protect us from the west so we took a day to head south to a place we found last year: Pipe Creek. There’s not a lot here for island exploration but it’s a protected anchorage and the sand bars just north of it are known to be excellent kiteboarding.

So many kayaks
Happy me
More clear water

Once Dart calmed down he fell fast asleep on the lines in the cockpit and didn’t wake up until we arrived!

This is how you lose a black cat on a boat
He looks pretty content
Dead asleep on the lines. Good boat cat!
Duster made a nest up on top of the cabinet with the hats. He’s a strange cat!

Most of the islands in this particular area are super fancy private resorts costing anywhere from $2000-$44k and up per night! Over yonder Cay is billed as being eco friendly and has a few huge wind turbines that are easily spotted from miles away.

We tend to lose track of what day it is when we’re on the boat so we kind of forgot that tonight was New Year’s Eve! We didn’t think anything of it until fireworks started going off at like 8:20 (random time!) and scared the shit out of us! It was a pretty good show!

Nothing like starting 2022 off with a fireworks show in the Bahamas!
