I realized the other day that my last post on here was literally months ago and maybe all 10 of my followers might be wondering where I’m at? Did I die? Was I abducted by aliens? (well maybe, but they brought me back, sooooo….) Truth is, I’ve just been busy and haven’t felt like taking pictures and talking about things! So here’s the scoop: We got back from the Bahamas and my parents came to visit and we joked that they should just come cruise with us on the boat since they don’t like living in the desert in Nevada.  They took us seriously, sold their house and all but 6 small boxes of possessions and keepsakes and drove across the country to move into our friend Ian’s house in Florida with us.  This is fantastic because my parents are the coolest and we wanted to show them what cruising on a sailboat was like anyway! But…. as much as we love Peregrine, she’s not a boat that 4 people can live on full time.  So…we decided to sell her!

Why are we like this?!?!?!?

Jason, as always, spends his free time researching boats and looking for our next boat.  This little hobby of his worked out when we needed to figure out what boat to get with 4 people on it.   We decided on a catamaran for the stability and extra living space and there were only a few manufacturers that make boats that we deem seaworthy enough.  This made our boat shopping as simple as finding a few boats for sale, looking at them, and pulling the trigger!  We’re now collectively owners of an Antares 44 catamaran named “True North”.  Yes, I realize we’re ridiculous people but, as the kids are saying these days, YOLO.

Buying the new boat and dealing with unpacking everything from Peregrine and getting her listed and sold took up most of our summer, in addition to unloading all the parents stuff, moving storage sheds, and moving into the house.

We also took a detour up to North Carolina to pick up the camper we ordered 6 months ago in preparation for our 6 month (much shorter now…) road trip across the country.

So now it’s August and Jason and I are finally ready to head across the country to Washington to visit friends and family.  The trip up was uneventful, but the campgrounds were crowded and the wildfires made it to smoky we ended up getting more hotel rooms than we planned.  Washington was awesome, so expect some posts from that soon!  After spending a few weeks hanging out we finally made our way back down to Missouri to hang out with family some more before starting the drive back to Florida to start working on some upgrades on the new boat before heading to the Bahamas!
