After a few weeks of photo challenge topics that are either hard to visualize or hard for me to make time to capture, I finally got an easy one: Sunset. The golden lighting makes almost anything look amazing and since Jason and I were still anchored out in Gig Harbor, finding a gorgeous viewpoint was not difficult.  The first time we went out for sunset photos, we walked alllll the way up to the end of the bay and up the hill.  I wanted a picture with all of the boats, marinas, mountains, and Mt. Rainier.

Good night, boats!

That sunset was pretty, but since there weren’t any clouds it wasn’t as dynamic as I wanted.  I would have to try again!  In the meantime, here are a few photos out the back of the boat!

I didn’t quite like the cut off view of Mt. Rainier in my previous photos, so Jason and I walked the other direction down the hill to a little park.  I don’t know the name, but it’s located right next to the old ferry terminal.  The pilings are still visible at low tide and it has a fantastic view of Rainier and the entrance to the harbor.  I wanted to bring more photo gear (tripod, neutral density filter, etc…) but I totally forgot.  Fail.  Ohwell, next time!
