It was sunday, everyone was off of work, and a beach day was in order! 🙂 We loaded the cooler with food and headed out to South Padre Island for the day in the 4Runner!

The island brings in artists to craft sand castles in various locations that get preserved for display! They were super tall and intricate, but kind of torn up by the recent hurricane and not repaired yet!

We drove down the beach  on the sand all the way to the jetty at the end! (like 20-30 miles)

Jason had fun driving on the sand
It was a little rough and windy, so we didn’t swim
Nude beach! 😮
Made it to the end!
Looks like a normal jetty

We headed back away from the jetty and the people fishing to a more secluded spot and I finally got to set up the awning that I made for the truck!  It was super windy and I forgot the sand stakes, so it wasn’t as nice as I hoped it would be and the fabric flapped pretty bad.  It did give us a nice place to hang out in the shade though!

We grilled some brats! Everything tastes better at the beach!

After lunch we headed back to town and went to the “Whaling Wall” to see the big mural.

Go team!
