Part of what we really liked about this model boat is that there is a separate shower in the master head.  A lot of boats will have a “wet head” so your toilet (and everything else…) will get wet when you shower.  That’s always a pain, so it’s really nice to have a fancy folding glass (*acrylic) shower door in our boat!

Unfortunately… the previous owner covered it in what looks like stained glass circles.  They’re not pretty colors (like kind of 70’s?) and just look weird as hell in an otherwise classy looking boat.

Seriously? green and yellow bubbles?

When Jason and I don’t want to do something, we procrasti-clean… so that’s why Jason took a razor blade into the bathroom to see if he could remove those ugly ass bubbles.  Turns out it worked great!  The colors were just thick plastic film and peeled right off leaving a soft silver border made of some sort of mystery material.

He might be at this for a while….

It already looks way better without the colors! I don’t mind the circles on the door glass.

progress!

Now to find something to remove the rest of it.. Goo gone didn’t touch it, so I’ll try something more powerful like acetone or paint stripper. Or maybe I will sand the entire thing down and make it “frosted glass”… More research will need to be done!
