I have a game that I enjoy playing that consists of trying to make art in shitty lighting and awkward non-ideal locations. Most photographers wait until sunrise or sunset for that perfect golden lighting… I don’t want to be up that late so I’ll just shoot at noon and damn the consequences.

Consequently there’s a pretty fun Youtube series with “ugly location” challenges:

Nirvana and I met up probably around noon or something to do a shoot at the park and then came back to her house in Bremerton to do a completely different shoot with the drum set.  After that we were both feeling creative still so we wandered outside to her backyard where she had a fantastic orange gate! Jackpot!  In addition, the harsh sunlight was reflecting off of the concrete and lighting up her face perfectly!

I really love the results of this shoot! they’re so edgy and fun! 🙂
