After staying up until 11 last night after a long day of shooting yesterday, I wasn’t super looking forward to meeting at 6:30 in the morning to go shoot the sunrise. (I don’t think I was the only one who would have liked to sleep a few hours longer!)  However, it was interesting seeing the difference in the lighting between sunset and sunrise.  During the sunrise you see the warm golden sunlight in the reflections of the buildings before you can see it come up over the mountains.

That’s a very different photo than last night.
Symmetry and reflections

Bryan jumped over the side of the wall to steal some rocks and throw into the water for extra interest. I always appreciate a teacher willing to go the extra mile!

I liked the gentle ripples more than the random rock splash. We needed Jason there to skip stones!

After an hour or so, the sun rose high enough for this location to lose interest and we started the drive out of the park.  Suddenly Bryan’s car stops and parks on the side of the road where there are distinctly ‘no parking’ signs.  He saw this sculpture and decided that we had to shoot it! I really like how these turned out, so I suppose he was right!

Bryan “adding interest” by being weird. I like this guy!

Eventually we also tired of this sculpture and continued on to a small parking area where we spent some time panning bicycles.  Unfortunately most of the bikers and runners saw a group of people with cameras pointed at the water and chose to purposely not ride in front of us.  (gotta be more stealthy, guys!) However I think everyone got their fill of moving shots for the day!
