It’s time to really think about heading towards home so we want to find a route back through the Abacos.  Instead of doing the same route along the western edge we’re going to try to go through the middle in the Bight of Abaco. It’s not really a place that anyone ever goes so… we’re going to go see what’s there! The first part is to get across the ocean from Spanish Wells over to the southern point of the Abacos at Rocky Point.  The anchoring here wasn’t great but we finally found a spot of sand in between the sea grass and rock to stay for the night.  We did take the dinghy to shore just to see what was happening.  Apparently this is where a lot of the people who work at the nearby cruise ship island live as there was a pretty steady string of ferry boats at quitting time and early in the morning! They had a cute little grocery store and a restaurant that we didn’t go to. Overall, I don’t think I’d stop here again unless I had to.  There’s not much in town and I wouldn’t trust the anchor in any sort of wind.

This is what 3′ of water and sea grass looks like

this is the store
pretty good haul!
