While messing around with the landscaping in the front yard, I had a few side projects going as well! Overall, I was pretty happy with the landscaping around the firepit area, but I made the walkway curve in at so sharp of an angle that my lawnmower can’t make the turn.  I decided to just take that curve out entirely and extend the walkway to make mowing easier for myself!

It looks so good this spring!
Removed the grass where I want the extension to be
Got the curve just right so I had the perfect amount of stones
cardboard for weed barrier
fresh mulch and irises that I got from a friend
Stole some gravel from the pile in the backyard
I made a cute little mailbox to store my small garden tools in

Fire pit extension is done and it IS a lot easier to mow! I also have easy access to my shears, gloves, and small shovel in the mailbox.

Next on my list was a hose station on the side of the house because a giant pile of hose isn’t very classy!

This was easy. Dug a hole, set a post, stained it.
screwed a hose hanger on there and we’re good to go!

Eventually I want to make a paving stone landing there, but I have to finish the rest of the landscaping first!  Also I got 2 huge, established clematis vines from a friend who is moving and needed to clean up her yard!

the little one looks really happy in its new spot!

I also scored a free Jane Magnolia (with pretty pink blooms!) from the county’s free native tree and shrub giveaway!

in like 10 years this is gonna be a spectacular tree!

I have a TON more planned, but this is all I’ve got for now! 🙂
