After a final run to the store for groceries we headed back south towards the Ragged Islands. There are 2 routes to get there, one is straightforward around the tip of the island but adds a day of travel and the other is to go through Current Cut and head straight south. Current cut is usually only done at high tide because it’s super shallow and at slack current because it’s narrow and kind of shady. …and of course we were going to be there around low tide, but we decided to motor down towards the cut anyway just to see what it looked like. Because Onward only has a draft of 2’4″ we hugged the side of the island and stayed out of most of the ripping current and didn’t have any issues with water depth. Doing stuff like this is literally my favorite part of owning this boat. We really don’t have to care about tides! We met up with our friends Dan and Nicole on their respective boats and explored Jamaica Cay, Flamingo Cay, Rocky Point, and then finally back north to Staniel Cay. We would have liked to spend more time in the Raggeds, but it’s time to start making our way back north and Dan and Nicole have family to meet up in Nassau!
