The water in Arkansas is pretty but it’s nowhere near as clear and amazing as the Bahamas and since I can’t fly all my friends out there to play mermaids we all decided the next best thing was to drive down to Florida to swim in the springs! We took 2 cars due to logistics which left Mingo and I in her Jeep.  I got to play passenger princess the whole way, distributing snacks and directions as required!

We didn’t really have THAT much crap with us

Our first stop was somewhere in Mississippi.  We stopped for lunch at this random hole in the wall diner because it looked *authentic* and it for sure was! They had “slug burgers” on the menu so we had to try one out of principle.  It wasn’t terrible.  They started in the depression as a way to add flour and bread to meat so that it lasted longer. Named the slug burger because they only cost a nickel!

not terrible, but I didn’t want a second one.

Our next stop was somewhere in Alabama at a beautiful state park with an waterfall to do a photoshoot with another mermaid! Mingo is financing this trip by doing paid shoots so I was just along for the ride and to make new friends!

I went down so Mingo could see if she liked this rock as a perch.

The next morning we got up bright and early (as we both tend to do anyway, so that’s convenient!), grabbed me a coffee so I wouldn’t complain endlessly, and headed to a beautiful state park in Georgia to meet our next mermaid photoshoot victim Courtney! The hike was a lot more sporty than anyone anticipated but totally worth it!

This was a bit of a scramble!

amazing!

Welcome to Florida!
