On our very first trip to the Bahamas we hid from some weather at Donny’s Marina in Black Sound in the Abacos.  We haven’t really been back to that area since but due to, again, shit weather, we decided to head on in and see if he had room for us! We lucked out and spent a few days tied up to a real dock! Donny’s is cool because he has a shower room, real bathrooms, laundry, and a cool hangout area for cruisers.  It’s also walking distance to the main part of Green Turtle Cay where there are a few restaurants and even a few coffee shops!

at the dock! which feels weird

why did the chicken cross the basketball court?
this was probably a beautiful house back in the day
more cats
another starlink launch
not too bad out in the ocean side!

We stayed on the dock for a few days but then Donny had a reservation coming in and we had to move to a different dock, which is fine, except the dock wasn’t actually finished, so it was super shady to get to and from the boat!

not OSHA approved…

There were fires over on mainland Abaco that were getting pretty nasty with all the wind we’ve been having.

Coffee shop!
I love the colors of all of these buildings

at the beach!

fantastic ice cream spot!
wildfires at night! Hope they get that put out soon.

I also spent some time inside the boat doing some painting.  Mostly worked on this painting for my friend of her as a mermaid!

I can’t paint faces, so I just didn’t…

Overall, Black Sound didn’t disappoint, and it was nice to be kind of back in civilization after so many months of just anchoring out.
