Diamond Head Crater - Advinspiration

Our first stop in Hawaii was to the Diamond Head State Monument. Click the link for actual legit information, but essentially Diamond Head is a huge crater of an inactive volcano. I love climbing into volcanoes!

The drive takes you pretty far up the rim of the crater already.

I was surprised at how grassy it was up here.

There are bunkers on the tops of all the hills.

This was a really neat hike. We end up exploring a lot of the northwest geological features, but I haven’t been anywhere tropical that actually had anything interesting like this before. The spiral staircase and old bunkers were a total bonus as well! I’m now inspired to take a trip back North to Fort Flagler and shoot those bunkers again. (This time with a tripod because it’s DARK in there!)
