Poas is an active volcano located close enough to San Jose to be included in our day trip bus tour! After spending so much time in Oregon and Washington, I LOVE volcanoes and the geology behind them. We were apparently super lucky that we were able to see the crater since the volcano is usually covered in clouds. I love the bright teal color of the water.

Another short hike brought us up a little further to a small lake created by an old crater. Nifty!
