I really love photo walks! Especially photo walks in locations that aren’t exotic or particularly beautiful.  Today Katie and I hit up downtown Bremerton where we both work.  Katie even lives here and hasn’t really given the area a second glance.  Part of the challenge is being able to find things of interest while surrounded by the mundane.  I didn’t take a lot of photos today because we were chatting so much, but I did take a few, mostly to prove a point or to show alternate ways to compose a scene.

More nothing: this is a dented car hood.
eliminating the boring sky from this photo makes it better and shows the subject against the colorful buildings instead.
Shooting through a maple tree to the statue by the marina. A little framing adds interest to an otherwise boring scene.
Quick out of focus shot of a feather with water drops on it. I should have taken a second shot of this!
I included some of the marina behind the statue to give context. He’s a sailor and he’s by the boats.
