We finally got some weather that we liked so we headed straight out of Black Sound directly for Florida. We always say that we can stop and spend the night a little closer at Sale Cay or a few other places, but we never end up stopping. The sails are up so we might as well just carry on!
The sail from the Abacos over the bank was uneventful but we ran into some super choppy water right when entering the deeper water. We got caught by a wave that was as tall as the boat and broke right on the rear quarter. Scared the shit out of both of us, but all was well. The waves calmed down once we got further away from land and had an uneventful sail all night under the full moon! The next morning was boring pretty much all day until a large pod of dolphins came and played next to the boat for a long time! They’re so playful and fun to watch!
I didn’t get many pictures motoring back through Jacksonville because honestly, we’re both exhausted and I don’t care. lol. But we made it safely back to Florida!
