I got to work right away this morning! (after waking up, and sipping a mug of coffee, and eating breakfast, and scouring the internet…) I really want to get the water tank and the floor installed because that would finish up almost all of the water/drain based projects.
There’s the final installation for the water fill piping and the water bladder. The carpet that I cut up and put in there a few days ago works awesome to protect the bladder from anything that might puncture it. Now it’s time to install the floor! I had to screw in some extra wood pieces around the outside to have something to screw the floor to.
So now that’s done! and I think it looks pretty good aside from needing touch up paint. …but then again, the entire interior needs a little touch up paint.
The galley cabinets are mostly done except for the one underneath the sink. That’s going to tilt out, but we forgot when we were cutting the cabinet doors that we also have the outlet for the heater vent… so we’re going to have to notch the door for that. I at least got the hinges installed!
While I was doing that, Jason was working on the bed slide piece so we can actually USE the camper for its intended purpose instead of sleeping on the floor! It’s 3 layers of 1708 E-glass fiberglass on top of balsa plywood. It’s super lightweight, but ended up being way more flexible than we thought it would be.
So now we come to the fun part! Actually finishing the galley cabinets!
Aside from that one missing drawer pull, the galley cabinets and structure are DONE! So are the countertops, so I set that on top just to see what it looks like. I’m ecstatic! It’s exactly what I wanted!
