A little off topic, but Jason and I have been talking about sailing away on a sailboat for a while now.  We can’t realistically do that yet, but that hasn’t stopped all of the planning from happening. One of the things we’ve looked into was how people repair sails and stuff while underway and the vast majority of people who buy sewing machines go with Sailrite.  The camper needs canvas and after watching a youtube tutorial I realized pretty quickly that I was going to destroy mom’s little sewing machine.  Since we wanted a Sailrite anyway, this seemed like the right time to go ahead and get one!

This thing is built like a tank. Which is good because it’s a legit industrial sewing machine.  There are belts, gears, metal bits, and a flywheel. It’s 56lbs so when it arrived, dad just gave up and left it outside for Jason to collect.

Overall my first impression is how professional Sailrite as a company is.  The box is robust and everything is taped with tape that has their name and logo on it.

so fancy!
This is the top of the line model. I figured I might as well buy once and not wish I had the other features…
The base.
It comes with samples that they sewed on this specific machine for quality control.
ooooh unboxing!
it’s BLUE!!!!
Oh that’s pretty!!!
QC by Tyler. Thanks, Tyler!
OOOOH!

So yeah, super stoked! Now I just need to finish setting everything up and read the user manual so I can figure out how to get everything working right.  Then I need a practice project before I start on the real deal canvas for the camper!
